“Alone” is the first single from Downtown Los Angeles based artist Rich. “Alone” was produced by Lars Stalfors who is known for his work with Cold War Kids, Matt & Kim, Surfer Blood, Deap Vally and Mars Volta. The session was split between the Cold War Kids space in San Pedro and east side recording studio, Infrasonic. Forgoing programmed beats and heavy synths, the 3 minute pop song (reminiscent of 90′s New Order) leans heavily on simple guitar lines, understated melodies, baritone vocals and acoustic drums.

While synthesizers and electronic beats have always been common means to produce pop music, Rich Michalowski is heading to the recording studio to add his own touch to the pop world. Combining songwriting with eager drums and strings, Michalowski is using classic instruments to deliver a fresh sound. With his first solo project, Rich, Michalowski is breathing new life into alternative pop. His first single, Alone, off his currently untitled album is set to debut October 23rd through Opus Label.
